Lifesaving Society – Nova Scotia members are asked to give thought to this year’s nominations for the Board of Directors. Please send completed nomination forms to the Nominations Committee Chair (details in the package) by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23rd, 2026. The Society’s Annual General Meeting will take place in Halifax on April 23rd, 2026.

April 23rd 2026 Lifesaving Society NS annual general meeting will be held in combination with our professional development symposium in Halifax. The AGM and keynote speaker will be at the Atlantica Hotel, symposium and National Lifeguard Instructor course April 24th, 25th and 26th sessions will be held at the JW Lindsay YMCA of greater Halifax and Dartmouth.
For our affiliates and Members located outside of same day travel distance who may wish to book a hotel room we do have a block room booking with the our AGM host The Atlantica Hotel. To take advantage of this pricing you may do so by:

After March 22 our block booking is released and rooms available at this pricing rate will be on a space availability basis.
Pricing $282.00 + 3% destination marketing levy and 14% hst, for a single/double room extra person policy is $20.00 + 14 % has per room per night to a maximum of 4 people per room.
This course will be held on April 25th and 26th at the Halifax YMCA. The National Lifeguard Instructor course provides candidates with an understanding of the principles and practices on which the National Lifeguard program is based and explores teaching approaches and techniques appropriate for National Lifeguard candidates.
Pre-requisites for the National Lifeguard Instructor:
National Lifeguard (any option)
Lifesaving Instructor
Recommended: Bronze examiner, experience lifeguarding
